Modern Terracotta

Charleston, South Carolina

Terracotta is an Italian word that means “baked earth,” derived from the Latin word “terra cocta.” It is a word that is used to describe clay-based ceramic and the warm colors of natural brown-orange hues of different elements. These hues can often have a grounding and calming effect that helps one bring their space down to earth. This was the exact translation of this shootout done with an industrial + modern twist. With a little bit of the whimsical + boho feel to add a little spice (or sweetness?) to the mix. This stunning shootout was hosted by The Shootout Society that was tucked away in sweet ole’ downtown Charleston, South Carolina.

The defining couple, Celeste + Liam, were natural born models. Celeste definitely knew how to work her angles, and the two of them were glowing throughout the entirety of the shoot. The two of them are engaged and carried gentleness and sweet cherish for each other. Celeste had two dresses that she was in throughout the session that gave off the unconventional bride vibes with the bold back and two-piece combinations. The dresses are divergent and not so common to what a classic bridal look tends to be. Liam’s attire complimented Celestes perfectly, aligning with the central boho ambiance of the day.

The rose, blush pink with alabaster, almost pearly white, was beautifully paired with the deep currant reds in the flower arrangements and bouquets. These arrays of beauty were the large portion of the grand finale after the rooftop romance on the rooftop of the venue. The finale was composed of all the florals being put together to fill up a vintage car. This gave the exact wow factor that wowed me to the point of wow—basically my favorite and most inspiring part of the shoot out. At the end of the day, a casual look for a rustic yet refined shootout was accomplished, leaving me happier than one can be.
